Dorothy T. "Ginger" Ryan

Middletown, Dorothy T. "Ginger" (Cabral) Ryan, 68, of Middletown passed away in Providence, Friday, March 21, 2014, surrounded by family, after a brave fight with cancer. She was a beautiful, kind, cheerful wife of USAF (Ret) C Charles P. Ryan Jr., to whom she was married for nearly 44 yearsBorn in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Mariano and Anna B. (Ferraro) Cabral. She grew up in Portsmouth on Willow Lane and resided on Aquidneck Island most of her life.Ginger served in the Job Corps and went on to work for Raytheon for several years. She also had worked in the Registrar's Office at Bellevue College and for Transcom. She was active with the Middletown Seniors Center and was a member of the Newport Lodge of Elks, Middletown Library and the AARP.Besides her husband she leaves her son Thomas Patrick Ryan of Middletown and Randolph, MA her brothers and sisters Ernie Cabral of Newport, Peter Cabral of Tiverton, Joseph P. Cabral of Portsmouth, Beatrice Cabral of Portsmouth, Patricia Dunbar of Portsmouth and Mary Ciocca of Westerly as well as nephews Jonathan Cabral, James Cabral, Bryan Cabral, Timothy Dunbar and Michael DunbarFuneral Services will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Berkshire Place 1st Floor Employees Appreciation Fund, 455 Douglas Avenue, Providence, RI 02908
