Middletown, RI - Dorothy ?Dot? Brown Turano, 82, of 446 Purgatory Road Middletown, RI, died Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at home.She was the wife of Laurence V. Turano of Middletown, RI. Born in Newport, RI on November 3, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Catherine Peckham Brown.Mrs. Turano was a 1939 graduate of Rogers High School. She was an avid tennis player and fan. Besides her husband of 62 years and caregiver, she is survived by her son Peter Turano and his wife Marti Turano of Middletown, RI, her daughter Kit Laiho and her husband John Laiho of Middletown, RI, six grandchildren Laurence M. Turano and Dennis B. Turano both of Middletown, RI, Casey Shrader of Naples, FL, Jack W. Laiho of Long Island, NY, Shannon T. Laiho of Newport, RI and Whitney C. Laiho of Sarasota, FL, and eight great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Francis Brown and Donald Brown. A Memorial Service be held on Monday, December 1, 2003, at 7:00PM, in the United Baptist Church, 30 Spring Street, Newport. Burial will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to the United Baptist Church, 30 Spring Street, Newport, RI 02840 or to the Visiting Nurse Services Of Newport Bristol Cos, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
