Tiverton, RI - Earle Channing Seaforth, 90, of 26 Kaufman Street, Tiverton, RI, died Saturday, May 27, 2006, at Newport Hospital. Born in Newport, RI, on December 28, 1915, he was the son of the late George and Miriam Richards Seaforth Buchanan. He was the former husband of the late Erminna ?Minnie? Barboza Seaforth whom he married in June of 1942. Earle attended Newport Public Schools, Coddington, John Clarke and Rogers High School. He was drafted into the Army in the latter part of 1942, after basic training he was sent to school in New York to train to be a Japanese plane spotter. After graduation he was sent to the South Pacific and remained there in the islands until after peace was declared. He returned home safely in February of 1946. He worked at the Naval Base as a security guard until retirement in 1971. He continued work as a security guard at various jobs until 1990. Earle?s hobby was building his dream home. It is a perfect monument to his talent. Earle is survived by his daughter Parris Beverly Seaforth of Raleigh, NC, three granddaughers Tiffany Grant-Manning of Virginia, Kimberley Jones of North Carolina and Sincere Moore of Virginia. He is also survived by three great granddaughters and a great grandson. Earle was part of a very large family of five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by George R. Seaforth of Boston, MA, Frank R. Seaforth of Windham, CT, Edna Seaforth Johnson and Miriam Smith and her husband Robert Smith all of Newport, RI. He was the brother of the late Robert Russell Seaforth of Everett, MA, Stanley Seaforth of Newport, RI and Ralph Seaforth of Willow Grove, PA. He leaves a host of nieces and nephews. His services will be announced at a later date.
