Edna B. Coons

Portsmouth, RI - Edna B. Wheeler Coons, 87, of 99 Lepes Road, Portsmouth, RI, died Friday, September 14, 2007 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Norman L. Coons. Born in Columbus, OH on October 11, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Pearl and Alma Butler Wheeler.Mrs. Coons was an administrative assistant at Dade Community College in Miami, and the Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Florida. She was a member and volunteer at the Portsmouth Senior Center. She is survived by her daughters, Nisha D. Coons and Karen L. Rolson, both of Portsmouth, RI, her sister, Vera Hughes of Winston Salem, NC and her beloved cat Cali. Funeral services will be private.
