Newport, RI - Edna Boretti, formerly of Atlantic Avenue and Third Street, Newport and later of Middletown, died Monday, February 5, 2007, in San Diego, CA. She was the wife of the late James Douglas and Albert Boretti. She was the companion of Alfred Laverdiere of San Diego, CA. Born in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Ann Walker.Mrs. Boretti formerly lived on Atlantic Street and Third Street in Newport and then to Middletown. Mrs. Boretti lived in Newport where she worked as a telephone operator and then she worked for the US Naval Base as an accounting clerk. Mrs. Boretti loved to travel. She loved dancing, golfing and bowling. She lived in Italy, London, New Orleans then retired in California. She is survived by her step son James Boretti of CA, and her daughters Joyce Douglas of Newport, RI, and Bonnie Caldwell of Memphis, TN, and step-daughters Eileen Sullivan of Portsmouth, RI, and Anne Heywood of East Bridgewater, MA, 6 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren and several nieces. She was the mother of the late James Douglas and sister of the late Thomas Walker, Helen Murphy and Alice Narolewski. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.
