Edna Mary Santos

Middletown, RI - Edna Mary Santos, 77, of Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, RI, formerly of Freeborn Street, Newport, RI, died Thursday, November 6, 2003 at Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, RI. Born in Newport, RI on September 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Frank P. and Emily Oliver Santos. Ms. Santos had worked as a clerk typist for the City of Newport in the City Clerks Office, retiring in 1976. She also worked during World War II at the PT Boat Basin in Portsmouth, RI, and then as a bookkeeper at Harlows Ice Cream Dairy and Grand Central Market in Providence, RI. Ms. Santos was a 3rd Order Carmelite and a member of the Rosary Sodality of Jesus Saviour Church and also a Communicant of Jesus Saviour Church in Newport. She is survived by her brother Arthur Santos of Newport, RI, four sisters Alice Santos of Newport, RI, Agnes Brosseau of Smithfield, RI, Evelyn Martins of Middletown, RI, and Emily Parvo of Newport, RI.She was the sister of the late Frank P. ?Jake? Santos, Joseph P. ?Mike? Santos and Alfred J. Santos. Her funeral will be held on Monday, November 10, 2003, at 9:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM, in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
