Edward A. "Ed"` Pimental

Portsmouth, RI ~ Edward A. Ed Pimental, 75, of Portsmouth, RI, passed away suddenly at his home in Portsmouth on September 7, 2014.Born in Newport, RI, on September 10, 1938, he was the son of Jack F. Pimental and Helen (Minior) Pimental. Mr. Pimental was a graduate of Durfee High School, Class of 1956. He honorably served his country as an Army Military Police Officer. For several years, he worked as a computer technician at Northrop Grumman Corp, and was a partner of JNL Landscape and Festival Crew from 1999-2014. He also worked at the St. Clare Convent in Newport as a chef.In his early years, he was an Amateur Radio Operator, and his gift of gab served him well throughout his life. A great pastime for him was spending time at the seashore and watching old, classic movies. His interests were vast, his sense of humor always intact, and his love of family and friends deeply rooted. He is survived by siblings, Jack Pimental and his wife Dorothy, of Sebastian, FL, Eileen Dallow, Janet Pimental, Eleanor Curry and her husband George, all of Portsmouth, and Paula Haldeman, of Groton, CT, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, his extended family Ryan, Rachel and Jillian LaBonte, Teresa Rolando, several cousins, and his beloved dog Bailey. A celebration of his Life gathering for family and friends will be held on September 12, from 5-7 PM, at the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI. Burial will be private at the request of his family. Donations in his memory may be made to the St. Clare Home, 309 Spring Street, Newport, RI.
