Newport, - Edward C Kelley, 74, of Newport, died Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI. Born in Newport, RI on Apr. 30, 1939, he was the son of the late Buck E Kelley and Catherine (LaChappelle) Kelley. As a native Newporter Ed loved the sea and all it had to offer as he worked as, a commercial fisherman as a young boy and well into his 30's. Ed took a break from fishing for a short period to explore other opportunities, working in the petroleum industry for Brown Root in Texas. He returned to Newport to peruse his love for fishing and other industry related businesses. His children Edward C Kelley, Jr. Mark E Kelley, Cassie Holton, and Talia Kelley, and 10 grandchildren survive him. His fiance Jeannine Gonzales also survives him. Ed will be truly missed by his family. Calling hours will be held on Friday November 8, 2013 from 10am-12pm in the Connors Funeral Home 55 W. Main Rd Portsmouth, RI.
