Edward J. Mccaughey

Middletown, RI - Edward J. McCaughey, 98, of Middletown, formerly of Pawtucket died on Wednesday, December 4, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary White McCaughey and their children, Edward J., Marcia and Stephen McCaughey. Born and raised in Pawtucket, RI he attended Providence Country Day School, The College of the Holy Cross and Boston University School of Law. Mr. McCaughey practiced law in Pawtucket and represented that city in the Rhode Island House of Representatives. The family moved to Middletown in the 1960s where Mr. McCaughey pursued a career in business. He was a communicant of St. Lucys Church. He enjoyed playing bridge on the Navy base and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. He loved jazz and hearing it played at the Newport jazz clubs.
