Edward James Butler, III, 43, of Newport died Tuesday, January 8, 2013, in Providence, RI. Born June 18, 1969 in Newport, RI, he was the son of Edward James and Irene S. (Lewis) Butler, Jr.Eddie Jim worked as a service attendant for many years. He played softball, was an avid Red Sox fan and Celtics fan. He enjoyed going to sporting events with his father and memorabila card shows. Ed loved animals and frequently took in strays, leaving behind his dogs Piggy, Abby and Baby, and his Besides his parents he is survived by his sister Debbie Foley of Portsmouth, RI. Calling hours will be held on, Tuesday, January 15, 2013, from 4-6pm, in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI. Burial will be private.
