Edward Joseph Jenkins, JR. Middletown, RI - Edward Joseph Jenkins, Jr., 59, of 125 Corey Lane, Middletown, RI, died Friday, August 7, 2009 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI.He was the husband of Linda Jenkins. Born in Providence, RI on January 27, 1950, he was the son of Ida DiMeo Jenkins and the late Edward Joseph JenkinsMr. Jenkins was Vice President of Operations for Child Family Services of Newport County for 7 years, retiring in 2008. His career included work for Jostens Manufacturing Company, Century Electronics, Davol, and Analog Devices. He was a partner in Expres Electronics, Bristol, RI.Ed was an avid golfer and fisherman .He loved playing poker, riding in his convertible and photography. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Scott Jenkins of West Warwick, R.I. , his sister Cheryl Jenkins of West Warwick, RI., niece Erica Bryson, nephew Richard Hart, aunts Sally Irons, Lucy Ianero, Mary Jenkins , uncle Thomas Jenkins and stepsons Matthew and Christopher Clukies. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at 10:00 am in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.Burial will be private.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2009, from 6-8p.m. in the funeral home.
