Naples, FL - Edward M. Suggs, 71, of Naples, FL died Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Newport Hospital surrounded by his friends. Born in Newport, RI, he was the son of the late Oscar and Ellen (Campbell) Suggs. He attended Salve Regina University in Newport, RI and Swain School of Design in New Bedford, MA.Edward Served in the Army National Guard for twelve years. Edward retired from the Newport Police Department in 1990 after 20 years of service as a Sergeant and decorated officer. "Captain Suggy" was an avid fisherman and entrepreneur with numerous businesses throughout his lifetime, most recently traveling around as the King of Cotton Candy. Edward loved tending to his farm where he housed his prized buffalo, Nikki, while he resided in Rhode Island.He is survived by his son, Glenn Kulik of Naples, FL as well as many close friends whom he considered his family.Over the years Ed extended his heart and home to anyone who may have needed a helping hand, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. He will be truly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have had him as their friend.
