Middletown, RI - Edward Russell Robinson Platts, on October 19, 1979 Edward Russell Robinson Platts the second precious joy was born to the proud parents of Lois Platts Robinson and Isaac Robinson. On November 18, 2010 at the age of 31 that joy turned to sorrow as Edward known to others as Ed-d or Phive went to be with the lord and other family members. Edward Ed-d was born in Newport, RI and attended school in Newport before moving to Middletown in 1986 continuing his education through high school there. Later receiving his GED in 2008 giving his mother something he didnt do in High School to watch him walk across the stage to receive his accomplishment of an education. Edward Ed-d was very active in the Boys Club in Newport as well as being active in little league. As a young child attending Community Baptist Church he sang in the youth choir as well as attending Sunday School and Vocational Bible School there. As Ed-d grew becoming a young man in life he developed a strong love for music expressing the gift he had making beats and selling them on Cds. Doing this out of his bedroom with a few pieces of equipment, his brother and friends, who wanted to make it in the music world. From his bedroom he took the love of his music to another level and compiled a studio, that lead him to start his own production known as T.O.N. E. Top Of New England.Edward leaves behind to cherish is memory his parents Lois and Isaac Robinson of Middletown, his brother Isaac Platts of Middletown, his sister Mona Lisa Alston of Dundalk, MD, his maternal grandmother Naomi Robinson of Baltimore, MD, for who he was named for his Uncle Edward Robinson of Middletown, RI, Russell Payton and his wife Lula Payton of New Bern, NC, Garold Payton of Newport, RI, Charles Payton of Providence, RI, Johnnie Platts Jr. and his wife Joyce of Newport, RI, Leroy Robinson and Michael Robinson of Baltimore, MD, his aunts Janice James and her husband Michael James of Newport, Violet Robinson, Yvonne Evans and her husband Bobby of Baltimore, MD, his god child Anyia Isom along with three nieces Shakira and Tynisha Rodriguez and Danielle McCoy and a host of nephews, cousins and friends. Edward is preceded in death by his grandparents Josephine and Johnnie Platts, Sr., and Walter Robinson, his aunt Antoinette Robinson and his cousin Manny Robinson.Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2010, from 10-11AM in the Community Baptist Church, 50 Dr. Marcus Wheatland Boulevard, Newport followed by his funeral service at 11:00 am in Community Baptist Church. His burial will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to ASCAP Foundation, One Lincoln Plaza, New York, NY 10023.
