Eileen F. Carpenter

Middletown, RI - Eileen F. Brady Carpenter, 88, of Murphy Circle, Middletown, RI, died Thursday, May 22, 2008 at her home.. She was the wife of Frederick L. Carpenter of Middletown. Born in Taunton, MA on Dec. 18, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ella Fleck Brady.A 1939 graduate of Brockton High School, she supported the war effort during World War II by working at Firestone Rubber Co. in Fall River, MA making gas masks for the armed forces. Mrs. Carpenter was a member of the Once-A-Month Society and Calvary United Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed gardening, growing house plants, particularly african- violets, and craftwork. In addition to her husband of 61 years, she is survived by her daughter, Joan F. Kokernack and her husband Russell of West Warwick, RI, her son, Robert N. Carpenter of California, a grandson, Jeremy Booth and his wife Mandy of Newport, RI, a granddaughter, Stephanie Beazley and her husband Brian of Broomfield, CO, a great-grandson, Jace Booth and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Beazley. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 11:00 am in Calvary United Methodist Church, Turner and Wyatt Roads, Middletown. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held Monday, May 26, 2008 from 4-7 pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
