Eileen Farrell Mcguire

Eileen (Farrell) McGuire, 95, of West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at home with her family at her side.She was the wife of the late Donald T. McGuire.Born on June 23, 1920 in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Francis and Elizabeth (Ryan) Farrell.Mrs. McGuire worked as secretary for the Headmaster, Abbot, and Alumni Association of Portsmouth Abbey School. She had attended the Rhode Island School of Design.She is survived by her children, Joyce McGuire, Ann McGuire, Ellen Nannig, Margaret McCafferty, Donald T. McGuire, Jr. and James L. McGuire; her sister, Nancy Griffin; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Kathleen Jortberg.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Portsmouth Abbey, 285 Cory's Lane, Portsmouth, RI. Burial will follow in the Abbey Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Donald T. McGuire Memorial Scholarship Fund at Portsmouth Abbey School.
