Eileen Houde

Portsmouth, RI - Eileen Glynn Houde, 63, of 89 Malee Terrace, Portsmouth, RI, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI, from a cerebral hemorrhage.She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Houde, whom she married on July 3, 1967. Born proud fully in Fall River, MA on May 7, 1946, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Henry Glynn.Eileen graduated with an Accounting Degree from Roger Williams University. She also worked for the former Bacon and Edge Accounting Firm, which is now Knowles and Edge. Her late husband was a very well respected financial director at TRICCSMA on the navy base. She enjoyed skiing in the Berkshires and they both supported their daughters figure skating career, which brought them great joy. She leaves behind her daughter, Sarah Houde, 32, and her wonderful grandson, Trey Joseph, 10. Trey gave her a love for baseball for which they then shared her first Red Sox game at Fenway Park two years ago. Watching him pitch was one of her many great joys with him. He made her very proud, as he will continue to do so as she watches over him.Eileen was the beloved baby sister of two wonderful sisters, Kathy Andruk of Pembroke, MA and Ann Gilbert of Brockton, MA.Her funeral will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 10:00 am in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth Burial will follow in Island Cemetery, Newport.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010, from 6-8 in the funeral home.
