Elaine J. Demenezes

Newport, RI - Elaine J. Vandal DeMenezes, 64, of 19 East Street, Newport, RI, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the wife of Francis P. DeMenezes. Born in Southbridge, MA on August 2, 1942, she was the daughter of Alexis L. Vandal of Southbridge, MA and the late Jeannette Yargeau Vandal.Mrs. DeMenezes was an avid sewer and gardener. Besides her husband of 40 years, she is survived by her children, Cheryl DeMenezes of Newport, RI, Brian DeMenezes and his wife Jennifer and their son Brett of Belle Air Bluffs, FL, and David DeMenezes and his significant other Julie of Virginia Beach, VA. She was the sister of the late Robert Vandal. Her funeral will be held on Friday, August 3, 2007, at 9:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Marys Church, Spring Street, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held the morning of mass, from 8-9am in the funeral home.
