Eleanor C. Card

Newport, RI - Eleanor Pawlotzky Card, of 29 Maple Avenue, Middletown, RI died Friday, October 28, 2005, at the Heatherwood Nursing and Subacute Center, Newport, RI. She was the beloved wife of Peter Chafee Card. Born in Switzerland, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Cecile Grunberg PawlotzkyMr. and Mrs. Card were married on June 23, 1956 in Fairhaven, MA. Together they enjoyed traveling, having been to most of the European Countries and to Egypt. Mrs. Card spoke five languages, French, Russian, Italian, German and English. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Middletown. She had a great love for children enjoying spending time and teaching them.Besides her husband of 49 years she leaves a son Peter Chafee Card Jr. and a sister Valentine Swanson. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at 10:00AM in the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, 177 Miantonomi Avenue, Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 5-8PM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway Newport, RI.
