Eleanor M. Kenney

Portsmouth, RI - Eleanor M. Fitzsimmons Kenney, 85, of 94 Alan Avenue, Portsmouth, died Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at St. Clare Home Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late Dominic J. Kenney. Born in Fall River, MA on July 18, 1919, she was the daughter of the late John and Sara Bailey Fitzsimmons. Mrs. Kenney was a clerk with NETC until her retirement in 1980. She was a communicant of St. Anthonys Church in Portsmouth, RI and a member of the Catholic Womens Club. She was a member of the Portsmouth Garden Club and voluntered in the Portsmouth School System. She is survived by three daughters Mary E. Underwood and Patricia A. Kenney both of Newport, RI, and Eileen Kenney Cooper of Bristol, RI, two grandsons James G. Underwood Jr. and Timothy J. Underwood both of Newport, RI, two great grandchildren Timothy Rex Underwood and Francis Eleanor Underwood both of Newport, RI, and several nieces nephews.Her funeral will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2005, at 8:00AM, from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00AM, in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Clare Home, 309 Spring Street, Newport, RI, 02840.
