Eleanor Corcoran McPoland Newport, - Eleanor Corcoran McPoland, 73, of 50 Eastnor Road, Newport, died Wednesday, August 11, 2004, at the St. Clare Home, Spring Street, Newport, RI. She was the wife of Roy McPoland. Born in Providence, RI, on October. 21, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Morrison Corcoran. Mrs. McPoland was a Graduate of the Newport Hospital School of Nursing and had worked as a registered nurse in area nursing homes in Newport and later had worked as a realtor in Ridgewood, NJ. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons Michael H. McPoland of Grand Rapids, MI, and John P. McPoland of Essex Junction, VT, four daughters Paula A. McPoland of Washington, DC, Susan Benstead of Shrewsbury, MA, Pamela McDaid of Midland Park, NJ, and Amy B. McPoland of Rutherford, NJ, one brother Robert Corcoran of Ridgewood, NJ, two sisters Dorothy Shevlin of Ridgewood, NJ, and Virginia Corcoran of Nashua, NH, and nine grandchildren. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2004, at 9:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Marys Church, Spring Street, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, Brown?s Lane, Middletown.
