Elisabeth Heines

Elisabeth Heines, 92, of Newport, RI, died August 25th 2015 Elisabeth Heines, daughter of Syfert and Alberta de Smit, loving wife of J. M. H. Heines, passed away at the Grand Islander Center (Middletown, RI) after the cumulative effects of ageing ended her time with us. She is survived by her son Michael, daughter-in-law Ann (both of Rome, NY), brother Fred Smit (of Haarlem, the Netherlands), and granddaughter Natasha (of Bloomington, IN). Elisabeth worked as a docent for the Newport Preservation Society for forty years. Elisabeth loved her family, friends, Newport, spirited discussion, classical music, and animals. She is greatly missed by all who knew her. Family and friends are invited to an hour of visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday October 17, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, in Newport.
