Newport, RI - Elizabeth ?Bette? Ann Sullivan Manchester, 79, of 398 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, RI, formerly of John Clark Retirement Center, Middletown, died Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Heatherwood Nursing and Subacute Center, Newport, RI. Born in Newport, RI on March 18, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Moriarty Sullivan. Bette worked at the Naval Base for many years with computers. She was an accomplished artist and showed her work at the Art Association in Newport. Bette was an avid reader and especially liked mystery stories. Bette loved spending time at the beach and swimming. Her favorite place in Newport was the Ocean Drive. She is survived by her daughters Mona P. Manchester of Homestead, FL and Gail C. Benedict of Miami, FL, her grandchildren Kimberly E. Benedict Figueroa and Haley C. Benedict, her sister Nora Morgan of California, and her cousins Pauline Shea and Kay Martin of Newport and Paul Martin. She was the sister of the late John Sullivan, James Sullivan, Cornelius Sullivan, Francis Sullivan, Mary ?Mame? E. Sullivan, Lillian Sullivan, Eileen Moy and Margaret Ramsey
