Elizabeth Ann Smith

Elizabeth Ann Weiser Smith, 75, of 396 Gibbs Avenue Newport, died Thursday, May 30, 2002 at home. She was the wife of the late William T. Smith. Born in Santa Paula, CA on October 9, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Saint Paul and the late Katherine Konda Lindsay. Mrs. Smith moved to Newport in 1957. She worked at Corcoran, Peckham and Hayes as a bookkeeper before owning and operating the Beth Shan Bed and Breakfast. She was a Past President and member of the Mosaic Club of Newport, a Past President of the Republican Womens Club. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her son Capt. William T. Smith III of Indialantic, FL, two daughters Deborah Connell and Lindsay Mullins both of Portsmouth, RI, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her funeral will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2002, at 3:00 PM in the Hambly Funeral Home Brick House, 30 Red Cross Avenue, Newport. Burial will be Monday, June 3, 2002, at 10:00AM, in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth.
