Portsmouth, RI- Elizabeth Lois McCulley, 69, of Portsmouth, died Friday, June 14, 2013.Born in Newport, RI on October 21, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Frank G. McCulley and Ann D. (Teves) McCulley.Elizabeth was a 1962 graduate of Rogers High School. She worked for many different departments and agencies for the Federal Government in Washington DC, lastly for the Department of Education. In addition, she worked for members in the House of Representatives as well as the Senate, and the Watergate and National Republican Committees. She was a member of Jesus Savior Church, and the AARP and loved to watch tennis. Upon her retirement she was very happy to move back to Rhode Island, which she always considered her home, especially Newport.She is survived by her sister Beverly Dutra and her husband Thomas of Portsmouth, RI, her brother Frank McCulley and his wife Lucy of Bristol, RI, and many nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013, at 10:00a.m., in the Jesus Savior Church, 1 Vernon Avenue, Newport.A private burial will take place in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.Memorial donations may be made to Lucys Hearth, 913 West Main Road, Middletown, RI 02842, or to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Jesus Savior Church, 1 Vernon Avenue, Newport, RI 02840.
