Elizabeth N. Earp

Elizabeth N. Earp, 99, of Portsmouth died Monday, November 16, 2015 at Forest Farm Health Care Center of Middletown, RI. She was the wife of the late Ralph K. Earp, MD.Born on January 13, 1916 in Keokuk, IA, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Elizabeth (Barrett) Nygren. Mrs. Earp, attended DePaul Hospital School of Nursing and went to work as a registered nurse for DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, MO and then onto New York City and worked at Sloan Kettering Hospital. She was a 20 year volunteer at the Newport Hospital.She is survived by her children, Richard F. Earp of Kansas City, MO, Ruth A. Groth and her husband Greg of Chaparral, NM and Dr. Ralph T. Earp and his wife Barbara of Portsmouth, RI, her grandchildren, Michael J. Earp and his wife Kara, Kevin R. Earp, Thomas C. Earp and his wife Stephanie, Martha N. Sbano and her husband Michael, Matthew Groth and his wife Christina and Mychal Groth and five great grandchildren.Her funeral will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 10am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, her burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, RI.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Portsmouth Abbey School, 285 Corys Lane, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
