Elizabeth N. Ross

Durham, NC ? Elizabeth ?Bessie? N. Gray Ross, 88, a resident of Durham, NC since 2002, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2006. She was the wife of the late William G. Ross. She was also predeceased by her sister, Helen O?Connell and brother, William Gray. Born in Newport, RI, on August 1, 1918, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Neill Nicholson Gray.Mrs. Ross was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Newport, RI and attended Westminster Presbyterian Church in Durham, NC. She worked as a bookkeeper and retired from the Newport Creamery. She was a 1936 Graduate of Rogers High School. She is survived by two daughters Carol Ann Williams and her husband John of Thousand Oaks, CA, and Sally Ross Cook of Durham, NC, five grandchildren, Steven Andrew Williams, John David Williams, Adam Ross Cook, Angela Marie Ross Cook and Daniel Ross Cook and one great grandchild, Joseph David Williams. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2006, at 2:00pm in the First Presbyterian Church, Broadway and Everett, Newport. Burial will be on Saturday, November 11, 2006, at 12:00pm in the Island Annex Cemetery in Newport.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stain Glass Restoration Fund, c/o First Presbyterian Church, 4 Everett Street, Newport, RI 02840.
