Elizabeth Weiss

Portsmouth, RI - Elizabeth Gschwind Weiss, 96, of 49 Fischer Circle, Portsmouth, RI, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Village House Nursing Home, Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late Lee A. Weiss. Born in Bronx, NY on May 18, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothea Gschwind.Mrs. Weiss was a communicant of St. Marys Church. She was an avid gardener and gifted knitter. Mrs. Weiss loved her grandchildren, her pets and the opera. She is survived by her children, S. Craig Weiss and his wife Joanne of North Kingstown, RI and Christopher L. Weiss and his wife Marilyn of Springfield, VA, her grandchildren, Joshua Weiss, Jessica Byrd and Amanda Weiss and her great grandchild Hayden Byrd.She was the sister of the late Joseph Gschwind, Gerald Gschwind, Helen Dunn and Dorothea Repenn. Her funeral will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010, at 9:30 am in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
