Ellen Faryniarz

Ellen Madeline Faryniarz (95) passed into eternal life on July 8, 2015. She was the daughter of the Late Ettore and Quinta (Tognarelli) Angelini, both of whom were from Pieve Fosciana Lucca Italy, but met initially in Pawtucket, RI.Ellen was born in Fall River MA, on November 26, 1919.She attended public schools and helped with the family urban farm and travelling grocery market until she was old enough to work in various Fall River needlework mills when she had to leave school in eighth grade to help support her mother. Eventually, she worked as a multiple spindle machine operator at Firestone Company making gas masks during WWII. It was at Firestone that she met her future husband, Joseph S. Faryniarz, a tool and die maker machinist. Together, they built a home in Portsmouth RI where they raised three sons: Lawrence J. ( Debra) Faryniarz, and Joseph V. Faryniarz both of Portsmouth, and Thomas L. Faryniarz ( Anne) from Helotes Texas. Eugenia Faryniarz, Mary (Faryniarz) Gieron and Alice (Cruz) Angelini are her sisters-in-law. She has two grandchildren: MIDN Anna M. Faryniarz USN, and Jake T. Faryniarz; and several nephews: Raymond Leary, Gabriel Angelini, Brendan Gieron, Steven Bernat, Martin Bernat, and Eugene Bernat. She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph S. Faryniarz, her brother Gabriello A. Angelini, her sisters Mary P. Leary and Norma Angelini, and sister-in-law Eugene P. Faryniarz.Mrs. Faryniarz was an excellent cook and served the community as an officer of the St. Anthony's Church Catholic Women Club, American Legion Post 18 Auxiliary, and the De La Salle Academy Mothers Auxiliary. She was also the devoted caregiver for her mother, sister, as well as in-laws. Ellen enjoyed her family, St. Anthony parish, gardening, cooking, sewing, and helping her neighbors.Calling hours are will be held on Tuesday July 14, 2015 from 5-8pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.Her funeral will be held on Wednesday July 15, 2015 at 9:00am in the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Anthony's Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.Interment will be at Notre Dame Cemetery, 1540 Stafford Road, Fall River, MA.
