Newport, RI - Ellis Wesley Michael Foster, Jr., 62, of 76 Broadway, Newport, RI, died Thursday, October 25, 2007 at home. He was the husband of Sauvita Pair Foster of Newport. Born in McKeesport, PA on November 11, 1944, he was the son of the late Ellis Wesley Michael Foster and Irene Deterra Foster.Mr. Foster was an assembler for the James L. Maher Center and also worked at the Newport Naval Base as a dishwasher. He was a member of St. Peters Church and as a young boy growing up St. Marks Church. Mr. Foster was a member and treasurer of the Kiwanis Action Club. He loved the Special Olympics and was an avid Red Sox fan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his Aunt, Virginia Deterra of Middletown, RI, and cousins, Darleen A. McKay and her husband William of Middletown, RI, Diane Drummond and her husband Hugh of Halifax, MA, David Deterra of Jamestown, RI, Richard Deterra of Florida, Sandra Janas of Wheaton, IL, Mary Ellen Carter of Florida and James Deterra of Florida. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at 10 am in St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown. Burial will be in St. Mark Cemetery in Jamestown.Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 29 from 4 ? 7 pm in the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport, RI.
