Eloise Davis

Middletown, RI - Eloise Caswell Davis, 92, of 10 South Drive, Middletown, RI, died Saturday, December 9, 2006 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. She was the wife of the late Stanley A. Davis. Born in Portsmouth, RI on Nov. 17, 1914, she was the daughter of the late David S. and Mamie Almy Caswell.Mrs. Davis worked as a clerk in the gift shop for the Newport Preservation Society for six years. She was a member of St. Marys Episcopal Church, Middletown and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star - Nestell Chapter #6. Mrs. Davis was an avid bowler, bridge player, knitter and sewer. She is survived by three sons, Stewart A. Davis of The Villages, FL, Richard I. Davis of Newport, RI, and Stephen A. Davis of South Kingstown, RI; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Stanley W. Davis and Helen E. Davis and sister of the late David S. Caswell Jr., A. Gardner Caswell, Frank Caswell, Mary Asnip and Sarah Hathaway. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 10 am in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will take place in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2006 from 4-8 pm in the Memorial Funeral Home.
