Elsie Ann Tavares

Portsmouth, - Elsie Ann Andrade Tavares, 79, of Metacom Manor, Bristol, formerly of 4 South Drive Portsmouth, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at Rhode Island Hospital Providence, RI.She was the wife of the late Antone Tavares. Born in Bristol, RI on July 27, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary Louis Andrade. Mrs. Tavares worked as a cable maker with General Electric for 10 yearsn and Raytheon for 14 years. She is survived by two sons Anthony Tavares of Griffin, GA, and David Tavares of Portsmouth, RI, two brothers Ralph Andrade of Swansea, MA, and Manuel Andrade of Barrington, RI, three sisters Hilda Armillitto, Irene Prozieoso and Alice Tavares all of Bristol, RI, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.She was the mother of the late Mary Ann Brown, and the sister of the late Joseph Andrade, John Andrade, Mary Andrade, Cora Carr and Sadie Soares.. Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 23, 2003, at 9:00AM, from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM, in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Portsmouth Cemetery in Portsmouth.
