Newport, - Elza Perreira Lopes, 76, of Village House Nursing Home Newport, formerly of Burnside Avenue, Newport, died Friday, June 6, 2003 at Village House Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late Richard Lopes. Born in Rio De Janero, Brazil, on January 8, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Carlos and Ana DaSilva Perreira. Mrs. Lopes worked in private service for Mrs. Arthur Tuckerman Family, Mrs. George Gold Family and Mrs. Emma Domingoes Family. She attended Jesus Saviour Church. She is survived by three sons Ricardo Lopes of Newport, RI, Francisco Lopes of Newport News, VA, and Jorge Lopes of New Haven, CT, her daughter Romana Lopes of Jacksonville, FL, her sister Ruth Bettencourt of Rio De Janero, Brazil, and thirteen grandchildren. She was mother of the late Carlos Lopes and sister of the late Gloria DaSilva, Lindeira DaSilva and Carlinda DaSilvaHer funeral will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2003, at 8:00am, from the Hambly Funeral Home Brick House, 30 Red Cross Avenue, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00am in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport.
