Emilia da Luz Oliveira, 100, formerly of 19 Daniel St. Newport died Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Village House Nursing Home, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Francisco M. Oliveira.Born on September 7, 1914 in San Miguel, the Azores, she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Maria (Almeida) Moniz.Mrs. Oliveira was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church. She also enjoyed gardening, knitting afghans, cooking, and baking pies.She is survived by her daughters Aida DAndrea and her husband Donato Andre of Newport, RI, and Elizabeth M. Mirone and her husband Thomas of The Villages, FL. She is also survived by her six grandchildren Joseph D'Andrea and his wife Megan of Norwell, MA; Jennifer Doak and her husband Patrick of Carlisle, MA; Jacquelyn Ondrasek and her husband Michael of Medway, MA; Paul D'Andrea of Portsmouth, RI; Michelle Murr and her husband Josh and Melissa Mirone all of Pembroke Pines, FL; her five great-grandchildren Emilia Doak, Andrea and Spencer Ondrasek, and MacKenzie and Jager Murr, and many nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Manuel Reis and Maria Theresa Oliveira.Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015, from 2-4 and 7-9, in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 9am, from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway, Newport, RI.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, Browns Lane, Middletown.In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Jesus Savior Church, 509 Broadway, Newport, RI 02840 or Village House Nursing and Rehab, Activities Fund, 70 Harrison Avenue, Newport, RI 02840.
