Emily Newell Ritchie

Middletown, - Emily Newell Ritchie, 87, of 333 Green End Avenue Middletown, formerly of 212 Vernon Avenue Middletown, died Saturday, July 19, 2003 at Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, RI. Born in Newport, RI on Mar. 12, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Nellie Titus Ritchie. Miss Ritchie was a life long member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She was employed by her father at the former Ritchie Florist on Broadway for many years. After retiring from the Florist Shop she worked as a guide at the Breakers for 13 years. She enjoyed traveling to Europe and throughout the United States. She is survived by a sister Barbara Tracy of Middletown, RI, and several nieces and nephewsShe was the sister of the late Charles Ritchie Jr. and Marjorie Greene A memorial service will be held Tuesday July 22, 2003 at 11:00AM in the Calvary United Methodist Church, Corner of Turner And Wyatt Roads, Middletown.Burial will be private.Arrangements are by the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
