Newport, RI - Emma Louise Willis Barry, 101, of 5 Division Street, Newport, died Thursday, October 14, 2004 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late William E. Barry. Born in Block Island, RI on March 18, 1903, she was the daughter of the late Everett Arnold and Evelyn Ball Willis. Before her marriage she was employed at the former Aquidneck Cottage Industries of Newport where she was a seamstress. She was a member of the United Baptist Church for over 82 years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and music, especially the piano which she enjoyed playing until the day she died. She is survived by her son Robert Barry of Newport; RI, her daughter Beverly Vandermyde of Middletown, RI, six grandchildren Gail Fitzpatrick of Wickford, RI, Terri Martland of Newport, RI, Karen Vandermyde of Bristol, RI, David Vandermyde of Newport, RI, John Barry of McLean, VA, and Christopher Barry of Jamaica Plains, MA, and five great grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Osborne E. Willis and Orba E. Willis and the grandmother of the late Robert Vandermyde and great grandmother of the late Katelyn Vandermyde.Her funeral will be held on Monday, October 18, 2004, at 11:00 AM in the Hambly Funeral Home Brick House, 30 Red Cross Avenue, Newport.
