Newport, RI - Erdice Rockhill Pardee, age 81, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on February 9, 2010.Erdice was born on July 30, 1928 in Manhattan, New York to Jerome Burton and Marianne Wickham Rockhill, also of New York.She attended Kent Place School in New Jersey and Vassar College.She married Stewart Trevor Pardee on September 24, 1954. The couple resided on the Fort Hill Estate in Lloyd Neck, Long Island, where she was an active fundraiser for community non-profits, dabbled in real estate, and studied computer science at Stony Brook University. She was an active tennis and bridge player. Erdice loved to read, travel and meet people from all walks of life. The couple were long-time members of Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club in Oyster Bay, NY, the Lloyd Neck Bath Club, and the Winter Club in Huntington, NY. Erdice was known for her social graces and incredible organization of galas to celebrate the lives and events of those important to her. She retired with her husband Trevor aboard their yacht Talaria and cruised the Eastern Seaboard of the United States, Central America and the Caribbean for seventeen years. She is survived by her three children, Lelia Erdice Pardee-Haller of Monterey, CA, Stewart Trevor Pardee, Jr., of Norfolk, VA, and Margaret Trevor Pardee, of Newport, RI, as well as her brother Jerome Rockhill, of Stamford, CT.A private internment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, NY.
