Eric Thomas Lexow

Eric Thomas Lexow passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

Eric was born in New York City in 1934, and moved to Darien in the late '30s. He attended St. Lukes School and King School and went on to join the Navy, serving during the Korean War. He earned undergrad and graduate degrees from Springfield College. He embarked on his career first at Home Insurance, GE and ended his 30-year career as Executive Vice President at The Church Pension Fund in New York.

As a young sailor at Noroton Yacht Club, he raced Star boats. Later in life, he loved to go cruising with his family in the Northeast and often down in the BVI's. He joined the Noroton Fire Department as a boy and was honored as the oldest living member of the department with over 70 years. In addition to the water, he loved to work around the yard and house, often being Mr. Fix It.

Jody and Eric moved to Jamestown in 1992. He enjoyed being the launch boat driver for Jamestown Boat Yard. He had a great group of friends - the "Boy's Club" would get together, fix things and enjoy the camaraderie over lunch to discuss their never-ending projects.

He met Jody while in college and they were married for over 63 years. He is predeceased by their son Fred in 2012. He is survived by his two daughters: Sarah Keena (John) who lives in Darien, and Amy Burton who lives in Wakefield, RI. He also leaves five grandchildren: Sylvie Lexow, Lauren Keena, Henry Keena, Campbell Peck, and Oliver Burton. Eric is also survived by his sister Nancy Reichard and her son Craig.

Eric loved to take walks and engage in conversation. Next time you are out taking a walk, think of Eric and pay it forward in keeping the neighborhood watch going.

A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
