Ernest D. Vandeusen

Ernest D. VanDeusen, 78, of 597 Aquidneck Ave, Middletown, RI, died Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of Mary R.SilviaVanDeusen for 56 years. Born in New Lisbon, NY on November 8, 1930, he was the son of the late George and Ellenor Bloomer VanDeusen.Ernest worked for the Town of Middletown, Public Works Department for 42 years. He loved to bowl and enjoyed fishing with his son and grandson. In the 1970s, he played on the adult baseball teams at Cardines Field. Ernest served in the US Navy during the Korean War out of Newport and on the USS William R. Rush. He enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his family.Besides his wife, he is survived by a son Ernest A. VanDeusen of Cumberland, RI, a grandson Shane VanDeusen and granddaughter Jessica VanDeusen. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 18, at 11:00 am in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown. Calling hours will be held Tuesday morning from 10:00-11:00am in the funeral home.
