Esther S. Peters

Esther S. (Sliwa) Peters, 96, formerly of Kane Avenue, Middletown, RI, died on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Cumberland Regional Medical Center in Somerset, KY.Born in Fall River, MA on June 16, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Josephine (Gil) Sliwa.Esther worked as a cook for the RI School Lunch Program for 22 years before retiring and also worked as a cook's helper at various estates in Newport. She enjoyed gardening and keeping up with current affairs.She is survived by three sons, Joseph W. Peters, Jr. of Middletown, RI, Stanley Peters of Middletown, RI and John S. Peters of Burnside, KY; seven grandchildren; and a sister Julia Sliwa of California. She was the sister of the Helen Kozlowski.Funeral services will be private.
