Ethel Braz

Ethel Nana Malloy Braz, 85, of Tiverton, RI, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 28, 2011. She was the wife of the late John R. Braz, Jr. Ethel was born on August 2, 1926, in Fall River, MA, the daughter of John M. and Celia Harrington Malloy. She graduated from Thevenet Hall in Highland Mills, NY, and was employed by the NE Telephone Co. in Fall River.Ethel spent many joyful times at her home in Chatham, NH and most recently wintered in Naples, FL. Travel was a true passion for her and she was fortunate to be able to visit six continents throughout the years, mostly on cruise ships.She was the mother of Kathryn KC Pontes and her husband Fulton, Mary Elizabeth Bernardo, both of Portsmouth, RI, and Joanne C. Braz of Tiverton. Grandmother of Brad and Brydie Bernardo and John and Kathleen Salmon. She was blessed with a great granddaughter Kaelyn Salmon. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late John H. Malloy. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 10:00am with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Theresa Church, 265 Stafford Road, Tiverton, RI 02878. Burial will follow in St. Patricks Cemetery in Fall River.
