Ettorino DeAscentis Middletown, RI - Ettorino DeAscentis, 92, of 35 Maple Avenue, Middletown, RI, died Friday, November 16, 2007 at the Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of Elsie Corey DeAscentis. Born in Newport, RI on April 1, 1915, he was the son of the late John and Judita Caputi DeAscentis.Mr. DeAscentis had worked as an inspector at the Naval Torpedo Station for over 30 years retiring in 1973. He was a Communicant of St. Lucys Church. He was a member of the Newport Rod and Gun Club and loved to fly. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters Deborah DeAscentis of Aubrin Hills, MI, and Carol DeAscentis of Newport, RI, and three brothers John DeAscentis of Palm Coast, FL, Hugo DeAscentis of Newport, RI, and Geno DeAscentis of Newport, RI. He was also the brother of the late Manley DeAscentis, Arthur DeAscentis, and Edward DeAscentis.His funeral will be held on Monday, November 19, 2007 at 8:00 a.m. from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown.Entombment with military honors will be in Newport Memorial Park Mausoleum in Middletown.Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 18, 2007 from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Robert Potter League for Animals, PO Box 412, Newport, RI, 02840 or to the Middletown Rescue Wagon Fund, 239 Wyatt Road, Middletown, RI, 02842.
