Middletown, - Eva Rose Duchesneau Thurston, 99, of Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, formerly of 665 Park Avenue, Portsmouth, died Sunday, March 9, 2003 at Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, RI.She was the wife of the late Raymond Everett Thurston. Born in West Warren, MA on March 30, 1903, she was the daughter of the late Moses and Marie L. Hebert Duchesneau.Mrs. Thurston moved to Portsmouth from Fall River in 1967. From 1944 to 1960 she owned and operated R E Thurston Vending Co. And from 1960 to 1976 she owned and operated the Sportsman Restaurant in Portsmouth. Mrs. Thurston was a member of St. Anthonys Church. She loved going to Bingo and playing cards in her retirement years. She is survived by her daughter in law Marjorie M. Thurston of Portsmouth, RI, her grandson R. Gerald Thurston of Portsmouth, RI, her granddaughter Suzanne T. Raposa of Portsmouth, RI, her great grandson Thomas Raposa and her great granddaughter Shannon Raposa.She was the mother of the late Raymond G. Thurston. Funeral and burial were private. Arrangements were by the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.
