Portsmouth, RI - Evelyn Dearie Sunderland Cummings DeSanto, 90, of 30 Sweet Farm Road, Portsmouth, RI, died Monday, January 2, 2012 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI.She was the wife of the late Joseph Bill Cummings Jr. and the late Peter J. DeSanto. Born in Providence, RI on December 7, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Terrance and Margaret Wall Sunderland. Mrs. DeSanto was an electrical inspector for 27 years at Raytheon, retiring in 1991. She is survived by her daughter Debra A. Gienty and her husband Kirk of Portsmouth, RI, and her granddaughter Michaela A. Gienty of Portsmouth, RI Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012, from 4-7 in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.Her funeral will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012, at 9:00am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Theresa Church, 265 Stafford Road, Tiverton.Burial will be in St. Patricks Cemetery in Fall River.
