Middletown, - Evelyn Mary Leander, 84, of 32 Bay View Park, Middletown, formerly of 949 East Main Road Middletown, died Friday, March 28, 2003 at Newport HospitalShe was the wife of Manuel L. Leander. Born in Newport, RI on April 26, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose Garcia Moitoza. Mrs. Leander was an assistant branch manager at the former Hospital Trust Bank for 37 Years retiring in 1979. She was a communicate of St. Lucys Church. Mrs. Leander was a member of the Middletown and Portsmouth Senior Citizens Centers. She was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America, past Court Madonna, also a former member and past treasurer of Republican Women and a volunteer at the Newport Hospital Gift Shop. Besides her husband she leaves a brother Frank Moitoza of Orlando, FL, and two sisters Anna Werhan and Rose Jock both of Portsmouth, RI, Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 4, 2003, at 8:00AM from the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00AM in St. Lucy?s Church 909 West Main Road Middletown. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.Donations in her memory may be made to the Middletown Rescue Wagon Fund, 239 Wyatt Road, Middletown, RI 02842.
