Everett Joseph Calibani

NEWPORT, RI - Everett Joseph Calibani, 84, of 12 Fowler Avenue, Newport, RI, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of Regina Louise Thompson Calibani. Born in Newport, RI on June 20, 1920, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Gramolini Calibani. Mr. Calibani was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, serving during World War II. He was the owner and operator of several laundromats, retiring in 1983. Mr. Calibani was a 4th Degree member of the Newport Knights of Columbus Council #256, where he served as Past Grand Knight, he was also a charter member and twice past preseident of the Serra Club, Newport Chapter. He was a Communicant of St. Josephs Church of Newport, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister since 1977, a member of the St. Josephs Church Harvest Festival and had been a trustee of St. Josephs Church since 1987. Mr. Calibani had been a volunteer with the St. Josephs Church Soup Kitchen for many years. He had also served as the commissioner of the Henderson Home for Aged Men. Besides his wife of 59 years, he is survived by his son Hugh L. Calibani of Newport, RI, and his siblings Eugene Calibani of Stoughton, MA, Joseph Calibani of St. Angelo, TX, Robert Calibani of Edmund, OK, Virginia Miller of Providence, RI, Catherine Mullen of Warwick, RI, and Anna Sabato of Turner Falls, MA. His funeral will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2005, at 9:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM, in St. Josephs Church, Broadway And Mann Avenue, Newport.
