Florence Blacklock

PORTSMOUTH, RI ? Florence Bourne Blacklock, 84, OF 398 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, of Sunny Acres and 51 Middle Road, Portsmouth and Russell Avenue, Newport, died Thursday, August 4, 2005, at Heatherwood Nursing and Subacute Center, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Thomas Blacklock. Born in Newport, RI on September 3, 1920, she was the daughter of the late George Edward and Hilda Roach Bourne. Mrs. Blacklock was a member of St. Marys Episcopal Church in Portsmouth. She was also a member of the former Portsmouth Garden Club, the Esther Rebecca Lodge Odd Fellows Womans Order of Newport and a Den Mother of Cub Scout Pack 24 in Newport. She is survived by her children Thomas G. Blacklock of Buluerde, TX, and Carolyn Simmons of Houston, TX, her sister Mildred Libby of Portsmouth, RI, her grandchildren Jennifer Simmons of Houston, TX and Jason Blacklock of San Marcos, CA, and her great grandchildren Hayden Blacklock and Harrison Blacklock both of San Marcos, CA. She was the sister of the late George E. Bourne Jr. and Edna Craig. Her graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2005, at 1:00PM, in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth.Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, 245 Waterman Street, Providence, RI 02903.
