Florence W. Olaynack

Newport, - Florence W. Ryan Olaynack, 90, of Spring Street Newport, formerly of 9 Dartmouth Street, died Monday, October 6, 2003 at St. Clare Home Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late Joseph H. Olaynack. Born in Newport, RI on October 13, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Susan Briody Ryan. Mrs. Olaynack worked at the former Woolworths on Thames Street. She was active in the St. Joseph and St. Catherine Academys Alumni and their rummage sales for over 50 years, for the benefit of the Sisters of St. Joseph which was located on the corner of Gould and Warner Street. Mrs. Olaynack was a member of St. Josephs Church and the Democratic Womens Club. She is survived by her son Joseph H. ?Skip? Olaynak Jr. of Newport, RI, her daughter Susan ?Patsy? Goddard of Middletown, RI, three sisters Rose Sullivan of Newport, RI, Margaret MacKinnon of Portsmouth, RI, and Alice Losgar of Flusing, NY, eight grandsons and five great grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Matthew Ryan, Susan Ryan and Mary Quintana.Her funeral will be held on Friday, October 10, 2003, at 9:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Josephs Church, Broadway And Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Clare Home Activity Fund, 309 Spring Street, Newport, RI 02840.
