Middletown, RI - Forrest A. Edward, 75, of Middletown, RI, died Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI.He was the husband of the late Marilyn June Reid Edward. Born in Newport, RI on February 21, 1934, he was the son of the late Horton W. and Evelyn Taber Edward.Mr. Edward retired from the United States Army in January 1980. He is survived by his brother Horton N. Edward, his four children, Kimberly E. Johnston of California, Scott A. Edward of Newport, Lorie E. Hicks of Nevada, and Craig W. Edward of New York, NY. Forrest also has seven grandchildren, Gretchen Langdale, Robert Langdale, Elizabeth Johnston, Nathaniel Johnston, Rachel Hicks, Rebecca Hicks and Steven Hicks and his great grandson Malcolm Ray Ortega. His funeral will be held on Friday, January 15, 2010, at 10:30am, in First Presbyterian Church, Broadway and Everett, Newport.Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Tiverton.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9pm in the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway, Newport.
