Portsmouth, RI - Frances E. McKenna McNamara, 84, formerly of 35 Linda Terrace, Portsmouth, died Sunday, November 28, 2004 at Forest Farm Health Care Center Middletown, RI.She was the wife of the late George McNamara, who passed away on January 20, 1991. Born in Willimantic, CT on August 17, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Cypher McKenna. Mrs. McNamara was a graduate of Milgrim Secretarial School. She was employed as a secretary in the supply department of the Naval Torpedo Station from 1941 to 1946. From there she was employed at Lawton Hammett Insurance Agency, from 1946 to 1970, which was later combined with Kirby Insurance, from which she resigned in 1989. Mrs. McNamara was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church. She was an avid reader, loved music and dancing, and went with her husband who was a jazz pianist to many jazz events. Mrs. McNamara traveled a lot with her husband camping on his fly fishing trips. She is survived by her daughter Donna Hull of Miami, FL, two grandchildren Brian ?Randy? Hull of Coral Gables, FL and Kathleen ?Katie? Linton of Miami. Fl. She was the sister of the late Dr. John McKenna, DDS. Her funeral will be held on Friday, December 3, 2004, at 9:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM, in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown. Donations in her memory may be made to the Visiting Nurse Services Of Newport Bristol Cos, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871 and to the St. Barnabas Church Building Fund, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
