Frances Fanny Souza

Portsmouth, RI - Frances Fanny Bougieum Souza, 84, of 116 Cedar Avenue, Portsmouth, RI, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Manuel R. Souza. Born in Casablanca, Morroco, on December 8, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Seymour and Fanny Benha Bouganim.Mrs. Souza came to the United States in 1946 aboard the USS Massachusetts into Long Island, NY as a World War II bride. She worked for Globe Assembly Co. and Setlo in Fall River, MA, as a young woman. She enjoyed to travel and dining out. Mrs. Souza was a member of the Society of Friends of Touro. She is survived by her sons Anthony S. Souza of Bristol, RI and John R. Souza of Portsmouth, RI, her daughter Lorraine I. Larocque of Cranston, RI, her grandson Shane C. Souza and her granddaughter Shayna L. Bennett. Her services are private.
